7 Days Uganda safari - Tour in Murchison Falls, Kibale, Queen Elizabeth National Parks

Day 1: Transfer to Murchison Falls national park
Head off to Murchison Falls National Park starting in Kampala via Bombo road which should take you about 5 hours. On your way, you will see the legendary Luwero triangle, today is a small town with a trading center known for its agonizing history of the Baganda massacre. Continue and branch off at Masindi Hotel for lunch. You will pass through Budongo forest and Kaniyo Pabidi. When you reach the park, drive directly to the Top of the falls, such a pretty site for relaxing and adventure. Camp or lodge at Sambiya Lodge (mid-range)/ Red Chili (cheap)/ Paraa Safari Lodge (luxury)

Day 2: Murchison falls Safari
Go for an early game view drive on the North of the Nile. Lions, buffaloes, waterbuck, Jackson's hartebeest, oribi and baboons are some of the animals you will spot. Soon you can take a launch cruise on the Murchison falls in about 2 hrs. Spot schools of hippos, large crocodiles, small herds of buffalo. There is rich birdlife on the papyrus banks, watch out for the shoebill stork, the most sought after bird in Africa. Go to the Top of the falls; such a lovely scene for viewing the fall, park as well taking lunch or relaxing. Camp or lodge at Sambiya Lodge/ Red Chili/ Paraa Safari Lodge.

Day 3: Transfer to Kibale national park
After an early breakfast, you will depart for Kibale National Park. You will drive via the Albertine Escarpment of the western Rift valley on the Masindi-Hoima-Fort portal road. This will be a long drive south via Hoima to Fort Portal, passing though verdant countryside and traditional homesteads and farms. (9 hrs) Fort Portal rests in the shadow of the legendary Mountains of the Moon. Sleep at a luxurious Ndali Safari Lodge/mid range Rwenzori view guest house/Budget Sky tree house (FB).

Day 4: chimp trekking in Kibale
After morning breakfast, wake up early to track chimps near Kanyanchu. This can take you half a day. There are primates in the area like the golden monkey, L’Hoest monkey, baboons, white and black colobus monkeys, grey checked mangabey, red colobus, blue monkeys and pottos. Other animals involve forest elephants unique from the common type, giant forest hogs and a striking tree species. Later take a guided nature walk to Bigodi swamp sanctuary, a good site for birders. The Great Blue Turaco and Papyrus Gonolek can easily be marked among the other bird 137 species. There is also an array of butterfly species. Return to Ndali Lodge/Crater Valley afterwards.

Day 5: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park
After an early breakfast, Proceed to Queen Elizabeth National Park following the mystical Rwenzori Mountain Range most of the journey. A game drive En-route may be rewarded with view of waterbucks, Elephants, Leopards, Buffaloes, Hyenas and a variety of Antelope species. Check in at Mweya Safari lodge and have lunch. After lunch, enjoy the unique 2-hour boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel and into Lake Edward. This trip passes through possibly the highest concentration of Hippos, buffalos, elephants other animals seen drinking at the water's edge. This launch cruise offers an excellent platform for photography, bird watching and game viewing. The prolific bird life is colorful and stupendous with well over 550 resident species. Sleep at Mweya Safari Lodge /budget Institute of ecology.

Day 6: Chimp Trekking in Queen Elizabeth - Chambura Gorge
This morning take your breakfast then head straight for chimpanzee trekking in Kyambura Gorge at exactly 8:00am. Did you know that chimps are our closest relatives? They act like humans so do spend an hour them to learn more. There are more diverse primates mainly Black and white Colobus monkeys and other animals like antelopes, hyenas in the middle of savanna grassland. This gorge has many bird species. Continue to Mweya Lodge, have lunch and head for a game view to Kasenyi. You will be able to see black and white colobus, bush buck, Uganda Kob, topi, Defassa waterbuck, and Cape buffaloes. A collection of birds like Cassin's grey flycatcher, broad billed roller, black bee-eater along the banks of Lake Edward. Return to Mweya Safari Lodge /budget Institute of ecology.

Day 7: Return to Kampala
After breakfast, transfer back to Kampala with lunch en route in Mbarara, arriving in the early evening.
