21 Days classic Uganda
This 21 days (20 nights) safari will begin and end at Kampala. You will visit places like the source of the Nile, Mountain Elgon National Park, Ziwa Rhino sanctuary, Murchison falls, Kibale Forest, Queen Elizabeth N.P, Lake Mburo, UWEC, Ssese Island, Bugala and Bukasa Island. It will be a life changing experience.
You will have 2 nights at Your preferred Hotel in Kampala, 3 nights at Mirembe Resort Beach, 1night at Mantana Tented Camp,2 nights at Buhoma homestead, 1 night at savannah hotel,1 night at Mwea- safari Lodge, 2 nights at Ndali Lodge/ Primate Lodge/Rwenzori View Guest house/Kanyanchu Ecological site, 2 nights at Paara safari Lodge, 1nighta at Masindi Hotel and 2 nights at Mountain Elgon Hotel.
Tour Itinerary for 21 days Classic Uganda.
Day 1: Kampala
You are expected to arrive at the Airport and be picked up by our safari guide. He will give you a brief view of your safari and later take you to your Hotel. After breakfast our safari guide will pick you from your hotel for a Kampala city tour as you refresh yourself from the jet lag. The tour will take you to different heritage sites which include the Kasubi tombs-a burial site for the Kings of Buganda, the Uganda museum-the oldest museum in East Africa, Maker ere University-one of the oldest educational institution in Africa and the Bahai temple-the only temple of Bahai faith in Africa. Spend the evening relaxing, or carry your own shopping in Kampala’s local markets that are also worthy to visit. Dinner and overnight at your preferred hotel in Kampala.
Day 2: The Source of the River Nile
After an early break fast, you will drive to Jinja, which is the past most industrialized town in Uganda. Have a stop over at Bombo village to pay a visit to the Sezibwa falls formed by the only Human born river Sezibwa. Later drive to Jinja. The Asian quarters, the brewery industries and the colorful gardens are one of the enroute attractions you can see on the drive. Visit the true Source of the Nile where the Biblical Nile emerges from Lake Victoria. Proceed to the Bujagali Falls to view the spectacular rapids on the river Nile a few kilometers from the source. Dinner and Overnight at Jinja Resort.
Day 3: Jinja
You will spend the whole day enjoying white water rafting on the World high grade rapids of the Mighty Nile-the World’s second longest river. You will also have a picnic at the Bujagali Falls and later have Dinner and Overnight at Jinja Resort.
Day 4: Jinja - Mt Elgon NP
Here, you will wake up early enough of course after breakfast, and drive to Mbaale which is about 176km from Jinja. You will after early breakfast drive to Mbaale arriving late afternoon and relax at the lodge as you refresh from this long journey. Dinner and overnight will be at Mountain Elgon Hotel.
Day 5: Mt Elgon National Park
After break fast, you will visit the Romantic Sipi Falls found in Kapchorwa, north of Mbaale. We shall go for nature walk where you will see different floral species including Elgonensis lobelia and dotted clusters of peculiar groundsels. After having lunch, visit the caves and the plantations of coffee, matooke and sugar cane. In the evening return to Mbaale, for dinner and overnight at Mount Elgon Hotel.
Day 6: Transfer to Murchison Falls.
Immediately after breakfast, leave Mbaale for Murchison Falls National Park. Passing via Kampala have a panoramic drive northwest through the famous battle zone of the Luwero Triangle. Have a stop at Ziwa Rhino sanctuary. Following extinction of Uganda rhino in the early 1980s during the period of civil unrest and heavy poaching, a sanctuary has now been established to breed black and white rhino, and restore rhino populations in Uganda’s protected areas in a later stage. Drive Dinner and overnight at Masindi Hotel
Day 7: Murchison Falls NP
You will wake up early morning and have a morning breakfast, after that, you will go for a morning game drive which will take you through different habitats. On the drive you will see different animals which include giraffes, Elephants, Bushbucks Lion, Jackal, Hartebeest and a variety of birdlife. Take a drive to the top of the falls. From the different viewpoints you will be able to see the refreshing spray as the second world’s longest river, the Mighty Nile thunders through different rapids. After that, you will go back to the lodge for lunch and later proceed to the river for a launch trip from where a number of animals can be seen. These include schools of Hippos, crocodiles, water birds, sometimes elephants, among others. Many birds can also be seen at the banks of the river. These include Egyptian geese, pelican bee-eaters, kingfishers, Hornbills, cormorants and the rare shoebill stork. Evening game drive before you retire for dinner and overnight at Paraa Safari Lodge/
Day 8: Murchison Falls Conservation area
On this safari, you will wake up early and have breakfast thereafter you will enter the tropical rain forest of Budongo for a guided nature walk. There are a number of chimpanzees as well as other primates that you will see. You will then have lunch and relax as you regain for another superb evening, a game drive on the Northern banks of the Nile from where you will be able to spot elephants, lions, Rothschild, giraffes, cape buffalos, waterbucks, bushbucks, spotted hyenas, hartebeests and at times leopards and lions. Dinner and overnight will be at Paraa Safari Lodge/
Day 9: Fort Portal
After breakfast start off from Murchison Falls National Park for Fort portal. Heading Southwest wards through the Albertine rift, this journey takes you through beautiful scenic area characterized by escarpments of the western arm of the Great East African Rift Valley. On reaching the colorful and beautiful Fort Portal town located in the shadow of the mythical Mountains of the Moon, continue to Ndali Lodge/Primate Lodge/Rwenzori View Guest house/Kanyanchu Ecological site for dinner and over night
Day 10: Kibale Forest National Park
After an early breakfast, you will continue to Kibale Forest National Park for Chimpanzee trekking. On this safari, you will be able to see other different primate species which include, grey cheeked Mangabeys, black-and-white colobus monkeys, the blues as well as other wildlife such as butterflies and birds. You will also be identifying different tree species by the help of our safari guide. After tracking return to the lodge for lunch after which you will take a nature walk through the Bigodi Swamp. On the walk different birds and mammals can be seen. Dinner and Overnight at Ndali Lodge/Primate Lodge/Rwenzori View Guest house/Kanyankyu Ecological site
Day 11: Kibale Forest - Queen Elizabeth
On this day, you will wake up in the morning and have breakfast. After that, you will drive to Queen Elizabeth National park for Mountain Rwenzori viewing and a game drive that will enable you to see different animals which include the comical warthogs, lions, leopards, buffaloes, elephants, hyenas and a variety of antelope species. After lunch, proceed to Kazinga Channel for a launch cruise. On the cruise different animals can be seen drinking water along the shores. These include hippos, elephants, buffaloes as well as water birds. There after, you will have dinner and Overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge.FB
Day 12: Queen Elizabeth NP
You will wake up early in the morning, take breakfast and later drive along Kasenyi tracks and Queens’s mile in the park. As you continue, you see a good number of animals trying to cross over some of these will include; lions, elephants, cape buffalos, warthogs, spotted hyenas, mongoose, waterbucks, kobs and, if lucky, and leopard. Later in the afternoon, you will drive back to the Lodge for lunch and then drive Ishasha Sector of Queen Elizabeth via Maramagambo Forest for dinner and overnight at Savannah Hotel.
Day 13: The Ishasha sector
Have an early break fast and then set off for the famous tree climbing lions which are always spotted clinging on old fig trees. You will have to take good care of your self by keeping far away from them, infact it is more convenient to view them from the car roof. You will then continue to drive trough this open savannah landscape and Proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable National found in the southern part of the country. Time permitting, you will make a visit to the local communities to have an adventure of Uganda rural communities or relax at the lodge. Dinner and overnight at Buhoma Homestead.
Day 14: Gorilla Tracking
This is one of the most exciting activities for some of you so you will wake up early in the morning and has breakfast then enter the gorilla sanctuary of the spectacular Bwindi Impenetrable forest. This tropical moist forest is a home to half of the remaining mountain gorillas that are consecrated in dramatic, heavily forested and dense landscapes. It is much fun and an unforgettable experience that you can only receive from Uganda. Later in the evening, you will have breakfast and later have dinner and overnight at Buhoma Homestead.
Day 15: The Little Switzerland of Africa
Since this day involves traveling, you will wake up abit early for breakfast such that you drive to Kabale the "Switzerland of Africa. Since it nearly resembles the Swiss Alps. As we drive, We shall have a stopover at the Bakiga Museum in Kabale to discover the culture of the people living in the area. After having lunch, take a boat ride on Africa’s second deepest lake. The boat ride will take you to various islands for bird viewing and sight seeing, then dinner and over night at Bushara Island/ Bunyonyi Over land Camp/ Bunyonyi Safari Resort.
Day 16: Lake Mburo National Park
Just as you finish your morning breakfast, you will drive to Lake Mburo National Park, the smallest savanna national park in Uganda. Reaching Mbarara by lunch time, have lunch at Lake View Regency Hotel. Take an evening game drive through the park. On the drive you expect seeing beautiful impalas, cape buffalos, zebras, oribis, elands and topi. Along with the game drive, many visitors also enjoy a boat trip on Lake Mburo. A number of acacia associated and water birds can also be seen in the park. These include Papyrus gonoleks, Brown-faced lapwings, the extraordinary White winged Warbler and Bare-faced Go-away bird. Dinner and overnight at Mantana Tented Camp/
Day 17: Lake Mburo NP - Kampala
Immediately after your morning breakfast, you will Start your day with an early morning game drive through the park and later return to the lodge for breakfast. Go for a guided nature walk to the salt lick area where there is a blind observatory animal that can allow you to see more than four different animal species licking salt from the salty soils. After having lunch, embark on the drive to Kampala having a stopover at the Equator for some photos arriving in Kampala late evening. Dinner and Overnight at Kampala at your preferred Hotel.
Day 18: UWEC & Ssese Islands
When you wake up in the morning, you will have breakfast and then drive to Uganda Wildlife Education Centre in Entebbe. UWEC is an exsitu conservation area; guides will take you through different mammals like reptiles and birds. After that, you will then board a ferry that will take you to Ssese Islands. This navigation will take you to the beautiful bay of Lutoboka, in Bugala Island, for dinner and overnight at Mirembe Resort Beach.
Day 19: Bukasa Island
After your breakfast, you will take an excursion to Bukasa Island, the second largest island in the Ssese Island. The exploration of Bukasa Islands is characterized by beautiful lake shores and forested lands give an unforgettable experience. Have lunch and continue with your expedition in the Islands. Return to Bugala islands in the evening, those who are fascinated with swimming, you will have the best out of this Ssese tour. So after swimming, you will have dinner and overnight at Mirembe Resort Beach.
Day 20: On the Beach at Bugala Island
There is no need to wake up so early in the morning, so wake up at around 9:00am for breakfast and relax at the white serene sandy beaches. Other activities include swimming in the uncontaminated and transparent water of Lake Victoria, fishing in the waters of Lake Victoria characterized by numerous fish species, or have a walk around the island and the forest. You will be surprise by such pleasant atmosphere. Optional activities: sport fishing. In the evening, you can decide to pack your property and then have dinner and overnight at Mirembe Resort Beach
Day 21: Return to Entebbe
Wake up in the morning, pack your cargo if you did not do it the previous night, go for breakfast and then get on the ferry to transfer you back to Entebbe Airport for your flight back home.
