Uganda Safari - 8 Days Wildlife Safari in Queen Elizabeth and Lake Mburo National Parks, Uganda

Both Lake Mburo and Queen Elizabeth national parks harbour savanna-related fauna and flora. The former supports over 68 mammal species and 315 bird species; whereas the latter with an area of 1,978km2 supports 95 mammal and 610 bird species. A wildlife tour in both parks is highly rewarding.

Detailed Wildlife Trip itinerary

Day 1: Kampala – Queen Elizabeth National Park

After an early morning breakfast transfer via Mbarara where you will make a stop-over for lunch and arrive in Queen Elizabeth national park enjoying a game drive en route. Dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari lodge or the Institute of Ecology (FB)

Day 2: Wildlife Tour
A wildlife tour in Queen Elizabeth will reward you with viewing
Lions, Leopards, Giant Forest Hogs, Cape Buffaloes, Elephants, Defassa Waterbucks, Uganda Kobs, Topi and Bush bucks and many more. After lunch, enjoy a unique 2-hour boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel between Lake George and Lake Edward. This trip passes through a very high concentration of Hippos, buffaloes and elephants drinking water along the banks. The prolific bird life is colorful and stupendous with well over 550 resident species. Dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari lodge or the Institute of Ecology (FB)

Day 3: Chimp Tracking in Kyambura River Gorge

After breakfast go chimps tracking in the lush Kyambura Gorge. Return to the lodge for lunch in preparation for an afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari lodge or the Institute of Ecology (FB)

Day 4: Game drive in Mburo national park

After Breakfast enjoy a game drive in L. Mburo NP. Look for Zebras, Elands, and Buffaloes, Impalas, Roam Antelopes, Leopards, Hyenas, Hippos, Bush bucks, and Klipspringer in its diverse ecosystem. After lunch undertake a boat cruise on Lake Mburo as you view the prolific birdlife and aquatic mammals.  Dinner and Overnight at Mantana Tented Camp /Rwonyo Camp / Agip Motel (BLD)

Day 5: Wildlife Safari – Lake Mburo national park

After early breakfasts enjoy a guided nature walk to the salt-lick where many animals in the park converge to enjoy the salty soil. In the afternoon transfer back to Kampala. Dinner and overnight at Speke Hotel/Tourist Hotel (FB)

Day 6: The Source of the Nile River
After a morning breakfast transfer to the Source of the Nile. Here you will be able to visit Bujagali Falls. Some of the tourist activites include white water rafting, bungee jumping, spot fishing, etc. In the afternoon transfer to Mbale. Dinner and overnight at Mount Elgon Hotel (FB)

Day 7: Mountain Hiking Safari
In the morning, after your breakfast transfer to the spectacular Sipi Falls. Visit a cluster of caves on the cliff above the river. Dinner and overnight at Sipi Falls Resort

Day 8: Return to Kampala
After breakfast return to Kampala. Depending on your flight schedule, this day you may fly out of Uganda.
