Bwindi Impenetrable Forest Uganda national park is considered to be one of the most biologically diverse forests in Africa. It is a true rainforest submerging a series of steep ridges and valleys that form the eastern edge of the Albertine Rift Valley. This is the natural home for the largest living Uganda primates, Mountain gorillas. Gorilla trekking in Uganda is mainly based in Bwindi. Slightly more than half the world's mountain gorillas estimated to be over 360 individuals live in Bwindi impenetrable forest. Apart from mountain gorillas, Bwindi harbours over 120 mammal species, more than any national park except Queen Elizabeth. This list includes 11 types of primates, including a healthy population of chimps and substantial numbers of LHoestes, red-tailed and blue monkey, as well as black-and-white colobus and olive baboon. A total of 350 bird species are present in Bwindi, a remarkably high figure putting under consideration the fact that the park includes a list of a few water birds.

TOUR ITINERARY

Day 01: Kampala - Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park

After breakfast transfer westwards to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park by road with lunch en route in Mbarara arriving in the evening in Bwindi.
En route to Bwindi and arrive at mid morning. Dinner and overnight at Lake kitandara luxury tented camp/or Basic - Buhoma community Bandas (FB)

Day 02: Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi

Take an early morning breakfast and hike to the park headquarters for a briefing and registration before gorilla trekking at 08.00 am.
Gorilla trekking is unpredictable, it is difficult to tell how long you may take in the jungle; however the gorilla trek may take 2 - 8 hours. Day 03: Return to Kampala
